A self-taught painter hailing from rural West Bengal, Paramesh Paul was first introduced to art while sculpting clay idols in his family home. The environment he belonged to, and the blood that pulsated in his veins, pushed him towards artistic pursuits despite him originally having pursued a degree in Commerce.
As an artist, his works have always been geared toward naturalism and spirituality, which has also seen him often use imagery of religious places and idols in his works. He is noted for his landscapes and cityscapes and also for his themes of spirituality, which sees a recurring appearance of the sacred Ganga in his paintings. He is currently a freelance artist in Mumbai.
